The doctors who prescribe prednisone the most just barely published an update to their Guideline for managing Osteoporosis caused by prednisone.

There are three important updates you need to know about.

Bone loss happens when taking prednisone and irreversible side effects of prednisone. In this video, I’ll be sharing how you can take care of your bones and prevent further damage to it.

The very first thing you need to figure out is what your risk is. It’s pretty hard to do without your doctor. So you and your doctor need to figure out what your risk is!

Use the FRAX Calculator

It’s a calculator where you can type in all of these little pieces of information about yourself to find out what is your likely risk of breaking a bone or needing a hip replacement.

The FRAX Scoring

  • Less than 10%
  • Between 10% and 20%
  • Greater than 20%

Strong recommendation to use oral bisphosphonates for long-term GC at high risk for fracture.

How to take Biphosphonates

  1. Take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
  2.  Take it with water.
  3. Sit upright for at least 30 minutes.

Options for Moderate to High Risk

  • Oral Pill
  • IV or Injectable Version
  • Denosumab
  • Prolia
  • Bisphosphonate

Non-Rx Osteoporosis Treatment

The best they recommend is “Lifestyle Modifications”.

  1. Lose Weight
  2. Get as much weight-bearing exercise
  3. Quit Smoking
  4. Stop Drinking Alcohol
  5. Calcium and Vitamin D Supplementation

To get the right nutrition while on prednisone, I invented Nutranize Zone that also contains Vitamin K2, Calcium, and Vitamin D! These nutrients are essential to building stronger muscles.

Get your Nutranize Zone today and replenish the nutrients that prednisone steals from your body.
